Ball and float valves; lift valves; seats.-A floatoperated lift valve is provided with a double closure by means of a seating-washer C4 secured between the two parts A, C of the valve casing, and a second washer B3 secured on the end of the plunger B by a ferrule or thimble B2. The end of the thimble projects beyond the washer B3 so as to seat on the washer C4, while a nipple C1 projecting from the part C seats on the washer B3. The nipple is grooved externally as shown, for the reception of the washer C4, which also forms a tight joint between the two parts A, C of the casing.
