Trunk Straps.

Buckles.-In a fastening or buckle for trunk straps of the type described in Specification No. 11,211, A.D. 1902, [Abridgment Class Fastenings, Lock &c.], one end of the trunk strap is attached to a keeper member A, Figs. 2 and 3, by passing through slots b, c, c. The other end is attached to a lever member B by passing through slots h, k1. The lever B has a pintle g, which engages with a forwardly turned hook d on the keeper A. When the lever B is turned about the pivot g, a bolt f of a lock e snaps under a cross-bar a on the keeper A. To adjust the strap to a trunk, its free end is pulled through the slots h, h1 so that the pintle g can just be placed over the hook d; then, on swinging over the lever B, the strap is drawn taut round the trunk.
