Conveyers.-Tea-leaf, after drying in a chamber on travelling webs or the like B, is guided by plates h2 into the open-topped casing of a helical conveyer H, by which it is led outside the chamber. The part of the conveyor outside the casing has a delivery opening in its lower part, whereby the leaf is discharged into an elevator casing I. Buckets or strips on a chain elevator carry it up and discharge it at the part i' into a vessel placed beneath the outlet spout. The upper part of the conveyer casing outside the drying-chamber has a relief opening h4 with a cover h5 for use in case of a breakdown of the elevator.
