21,277. Jackson, W. Oct. 8. [Patent of Addition to No. 18,866, A.D. 1908.] Drying tea &c.-The apparatus described in Specification No. 18,866, A.D. 1908, is modified in the following respects. The helical conveyer H and the lower end of the elevator casing I are arranged below the floor of the drying-chamber, the hopper h which directs material into the conveyer being placed on a level with the floor or below it, and any material that falls through the webs B being carried along the floor by scrapers or brushes k on endless chains or carriers below the lowest web or the like B and thrown into the hopper along with the material falling from the webs B. The material is then conveyed in the way described in the above-mentioned Specification into the elevator casing. The scrapers or brushes k may be constructed as described in Specification No. 14,731, A.D. 1904.
