2 7 , 6 3 4. Lambert, J., and Ribbons, W. J. Dec. 19. Cabinets, cupboards, tables, &c.-Relates to a cabinet having a compartment adapted to receive a talking- machine. The cabinet B has a number of doors C, D arranged either at right-angles to each other as shown, or on the same side or on opposite sides of it. The top B' may be hinged. A horn G, of rectangular or other cross-section, and with tapering sides of thin wood, papier mÔchÚ, metal, &c., is detachably hinged at I to the top of the cabinet by means of a removable pin passing through lugs provided on the horn and on the cabinet, against the interior of which a flange g2 on the horn rests. The horn G is removably attached to the soundconveying arm J of an ordinary talking-machine A by means such as a detachable elbow H. The doors C for regulating the sound are larger than the outlet G' of the horn, and their size and shape may be varied. When a shelf F is provided, record disks M, or cylinders, or portions of the apparatus may be stored on the shelf L or on the bottom B2. The cabinet is preferably made wider than the machine to allow the handle or key K to be retained in position, and is mounted on castors E. It may be fixed on, or placed upon a suitable stand or table, or it may be made in the form of a cupboard or other support having a receptacle for the horn G. The portion of the cabinet above the shelf F may be made portable, or it may be mounted upon a stand, table, cupboard, &c.
