[Cognate Application, 24,193/10.] Processes; bobbins.-The slivers or ends of a condenser carding- engine are wound upon small removable ferrules on the condenser bobbins, a number of these slivers, each taken from a different card, are then assembled on a bobbin, and a yarn is spun direct therefrom. The ferrules a are mounted on a condenser bobbin B, which, to facilitate their removal, is either made collapsible by being formed in hinged sections c, Fig. 2, or by being provided with a longitudinal wedge-piece b1, Fig. 4, or is formed with longitudinal grooves b2, Fig. 7, in which the operative's fingers can be inserted. The bobbin D, Fig. 9, on which the ends are assembled, is formed with longitudinal grooves d, and with a removable flange secured by screw or spring means, bayonetjoints, &c.
