Matches. - Non - poisonous igniting-compositions are prepared from phosphorus sulphides which are rich in sulphur and have a melting point below 100‹ C., prepared by fusing tetraphosphorus trisulphide with sulphur, or by treating a mixture of these materials with a solvent. A suitable composition consists of glue, zinc white, neuberger chalk, glass powder, a polysulphide of phosphorus, for example, of the formula P4S10, and potassium chlorate.
