Dental engines. - A rotary tool - holder for grinding - wheels &c. which may be used in dental work comprises a drive member 1 adapted to receive the shank 7 of the tool 5, the drive member being formed with transverse slots wherein slide spring - pressed threaded gripping - members 3. A collar 8 surrounds the drive member and has a coned internal surface; movement of the collar against the pressure of the spring 13 allows the threaded gripping-members 3 to move outward to release the tool shank, movement in the other direction presses the gripping-members inwards into position to allow another tool shank to be screwed into the holder.
