Disk and wheel apparatus.-In apparatus for grinding and trueing the bare cylinders and doffers of carding- engines, the bearings f for the splined grinder shaft b and for the right and left handed traversing - screw d are mounted on swivelling centres k in the adjustable end slides g, so that when the end slides are moved up separately to adjust the grinder to the work the bearings may accommodate themselves to strains in the shafts due to faulty adjustment. The screw shaft d is driven by a chain and chain-wheels from the grinder shaft, which is belt driven from the carding-engine.
