Wire fabrics.-In wire fabrics for mattresses &c. composed of U or square shaped links, adjacent branches of the links are interlocked by forming each one with a half-twist a1, as shown in Fig. 4, thus rendering the links resilient and avoiding the use of springs. In a modification, only one of the interlocking links may be twisted, as shown in Fig. 6, or they may be crossed as shown in Fig. 7. Each member is hooked at b to engage the loops a2 formed in the base of the loop.
