Pendulum-weight apparatus; computing-apparatus.-In a computing weighing-scale, the pan 5 is supported on a beam 6 and is steadied by a link 27, and' one end of the beam 6 is coupled to a pendulum lever 15 by means of an intermediate lever 11, a flexible band 13, and a cam 14, this cam being shaped so as to give equal displacements of the pendulum for equal increments of load. An arm 18 adjustably secured to the pendulum and cam 14 indicates on a computing-scale 19. A revolving computing-cylinder connected with the pendulum may be used instead of the scale 19. The arm 18 is counterbalanced by a weight 21. The angular relation of the cam 14 and indicating-arm 18 is adjusted by means of a screw 22. Auxiliary scale bars 32, 33 with weights 34, 35 are secured to the beam 6, and a dash-pot 37 is provided.
