Dressing and shaping; tools and tool-holders.- In a machine for cutting stone, marble, or other masonry in which the work is carried by a table which oscillates about an adjustable pivot, the oscillating means comprise a curved rack G engaged by a wheel H slidably carried by a shaft J which is rotated by worm gearing driven by a handwheel K1, a pulley, or the like. The table E is carried by balls F and its pivot pin Y, which may engage any one of a series of holes X, is adjusted by a screw K driven through bevelwheels M, M1, from a hand-wheel L, a pulley, or the like. A fast pulley A drives a cutterholder B which in turn drives cutter - holders C', C2. By removing the arms Z and reversing the table E, the machine may be used for straight cutting. The pinion H then engages a straight rack N, and the table is guided by rollers O1, Fig. 5, and a channel-iron O which is adjusted by screws Q driven by bevel-wheels U1 and a hand-wheel U2. The Provisional Specification also describes a cutter - holder with inclined slots in which are mounted cutter disks which are free to revolve.
