Champs.-A clamping-device for holding work down on a machine table or other base comprises an archshaped clamping-plate 3 free at both ends and longitudinally slotted to engage a stationary bolt or stud 1 provided with a wing or other nut 6. The ends of the plate 3 may be rounded as shown. A washer having a curved lower face to bed on the plate 3 may be interposed between the nut 6 and the plate.
