Alarms, low-water. - A bimetallic thermostatic strip d carrying a valve e in a chamber a at the top of a pipe dipping into a boiler down to the low-water level controls the passage of steam to a whistle g and to a pressure-operated electric-contact device h. When the water-level falls below the bottom of the pipe, steam passes up into the chamber and causes the bimetallic strip to open a passage f leading to the whistle and contact device.
