Improvements in or relating to Epicyclic or Differential Toothed Gearing for Slubbing Frames, Intermediate Frames, Roving Frames and other similar Machines for Preparing Cotton, Wool and other Fibrous Materials.
112,838. Platt Bros. & Co., and Nedderman. G. H. Feb. 14, 1917. Variable-speed epicyclic gearing.-In epicyclic gearing for driving bobbins in slubbing, intermediate, or roving frames or other apparatus for preparing or spinning cotton, wool, &c., eccentric and concentric parts a, c are connected together by links e formed with pins k, l projecting into holes in the wheels. The pins l may be dispensed with, the plates e being circular and fitting rotatably in holes in the parts c. In a modification, the parts a, c are connected bv an Oldham's coupling consisting of an intermediate member formed on both sides with projections sliding in radial guides in the two parts. The part c is fixed to the driving-shaft f, the eccentric toothed wheel a receives a variable motion through a sleeve h, and the driven toothed annulus d is fixed to a sleeve i by which the bobbins are driven. Specifications 14571/86, 8215/02, 4484/04, and 6407/07, are referred to.
