Eye instruments.-The hook, adapted to be clipped on to the surgeon's thumb, for the retraction of the lower eyelid during operations, as described in the parent Specification, may be made in ona piece of material, the shank or hook portions being slotted, and the hook either single or double. The hook A, Fig. 3, upon a slotted shank B, is provided with a thumb clip C, the end of the hook being either curved and single, as shown, or angular, or double. Fig. 4 shows a modified hook which is slotted. The shank may be made from flat sheet material, hollowed or otherwise, and may vary in shape; similarly the clip may be of plain material or be hollowed or forked. Sheet metal, celluloid, and vulcanite are stated to be suitable materials.
