121,923. Wilkie, W. July 24, 1918 Ironing-machines with pressing action only.- Garments and seams thereof are pressed in a machine consisting of a standard. A carrying detachably at its upper part a curved stationary presser head or block B, and supporting by means of a ram D a detachable curved block C which can be raised by means of a pedal E having a counterweighted extension E1 and a link F. The lower block is adjustably supported by a pivoted knee-bracket H. The shapes of the blocks are modified according to the work; thus, for collars thev would be semicircular in section. In a medication for greater pressure, the pedal is adjustable in its supports, and two parallel rods, such as D, are used to act as a double ram. More than one press may be carried on the same frame; in a modification illustrated, four are mounted upon one rectangular framework.
