Framework.-Wooden girders, beams, struts, &c. for aircraft framing are composed of longitudi. nals d connected together by dia. gonal braces a, which are secured between the two parts of each longitudinal and formed with ribs b engaging corresponding grooves c. Two members thus constructed may be arranged at right-angles as shown in Fig. 4. The braces a may be reinforced by ribs a1. Separate lengths are connected together by plywood plates f, which may be formed with ribs by threading a cord b1 of wood fibre as shown in Fig. 6.
