138,387. Helme, E. Nov. 12, 1918. Crushers with vibrating jaws.- In machines for breaking or crushing stone, ore, &c., a variable movement is imparted to the upper and lower ends of the swinging jaw by means of eccentrics on the driving-shaft, the relative position of which can be adjusted. The swinging jaw i is mounted by means of arms j on eccentrics m fixed on the driving-shaft d, the movement of the lower part of the jaw being effected by a central larger eccentric which can be adjusted m angular relation to the eccentrics m. The central eccentric acts through a link o on the upper end of a pitman p which turns about a pivot q. The pit. man acts upon the lower part of the jaw i through a toggle-plate x, which may be in two parts capable of relative adjustment by means of a screw x7 and packing-pieces x8. The lower end of the jaw is returned to normal position by a rod y and spring z.
