Pivoted window opening and closing apparatus. -A fanlight or other pivoted window is operated by a lever g1 which is pivoted to the frame at f, and one end of which engages a slotted bracket k on the window, the other end having a forked extension engaging trunnions on a nut operated by a screw c and pulley and cord. The screw is carried in bearings in a frame a1 on a bracket a fixed to the window frame, and the lever is pivoted in the bracket at f. The nut is held against rotation by an extension which engages a slot in the bracket. The bracket may be fixed to the face of the frame at the right hand or left hand, or to the reveal on either side by means of the car-pieces a3, a4, a5, to adapt the device to windows opening outwardly or inwardly. A pivoted cord-guide with projecting arms d' is provided on the screw.
