Regulating.-In turbines having a number of pressure stages and provided with auxiliary ducts 5 for overload steam, this steam, after traversing the first stage or one of the first stages, does not flow immediately into the succeeding stage, but is first diverted outwards by a duct 6 into a chamber 7 and then past a valve 4 and inwards through a duct 9 to one of the subsequent stages. The overload ducts may be subdivided into two ot more independent groups supplying different stages or groups of stages.
