Feeding carding-engines &c.-In an automatic feeding-machine, a hinged or movable grid, which can be readily lowered and lifted and secured in the closed position, is arranged to form the floor of the hopper. The grid c is pivoted at c1, and provided with pivoted handles f, which can engage bayonet-slots e in a bar d1. The lattice a may be nearly vertical, and the movable back b be pivoted at a point b1 some distance away from the lattice.
