Cleaning, fluid-pressure processes for. - The smoke tubes s of an air heater arranged in the uptake of a marine boiler are cleaned by a single row of adjustable steam jets beneath them. The jets d are mounted in a steam pipe c so as to be adjustable in the plane of its axis and the pipe itself is axially rotatable, the combined movements giving the jets access to all the smoke tubes s. To obtain the first movement, each jet d is mounted in a seat i in which it can be rocked by an arm k having a forked end engaging a pin n on a central rod o movable by means of a screwed hand-wheel at the outer end of the pipe. A second hand-wheel rotates the pipe, or, as shown, may be mounted in casings h connected by short lengths of pipe.
