184,005. Harley, H. G. June 20, 1921. Multiple-way valves. - To prevent the water from freezing in the cylinder jackets E and radiators R of internal-combustion engines it is emptied into a vessel T with a heat-insulating coating. The discharge and recharging is effected by an air-pump P with a four-way valve V communicating with the suction and discharge valves of the pump, the vessel T, and the atmosphere respectively. On the valve V is mounted a switch which earths the .ignition circuit when the cooling system is being emptied and is empty. The passages through the valve are shown diagrammatically in Fig. 4.
