Cramps; prizing -tools.-A device for removing the valves of internal-combustion engines comprises a base-block a adapted to fit between the valve tappet guides on the crank chamber, a removable nut b working in the upper face of the block a, and a screw c adapted to be traversed by the nut and carrying a transverse yoke or plate d which is shaped to engage beneath the lower coils of the spring y1 on two adjacent valve stems or washers y beneath the springs. The nut b is preferably milled, and also formed with holes b1 to receive a tommy bar, so that it can be readily rotated. To prevent rotation of screw c studs c2 on it are received in holes d3 in the yoke d. The yoke is reversible and on one side has raised ends dx to give a wider range of lift. A clearance hole. for the screw c is provided in the block a
