Transmission conductor arrangements; systems depending on the use of static transformers. -In high-tension electric power distribution by means of cables carrying two-phase or quarterphase currents converted from three-phase, one or more pairs of such cables L1S1, L111S111 are employed, working in conjunction with a neutral return L"S". When concentric cables ara used capacity current is supplied to their internal sheaths from tappings 211, 3111 on the high tension side of the distributing transformer. Additional pairs of cables may be arranged as shown in dotted lines, the whole forming a quarter-phase system. Instead of the concentric cables shown in the drawing, a greater number of single-core cables may be combined so as to obtain the same voltage of transmission with reduced dielectric strength of the individual cables.
