Radiators, motor-car and like. - Louvre shutters B as described in the parent Specification are attached by bolts C to inner upright frame members D and to the channelled member E accommodating the actuating bar. The rear tubular edges of the louvres are slotted to fit over the frame members, and the louvres are actuated by a rack bar K having continuous or interrupted teeth engaging pinion sectors L on the louvres. The rack bar may be actuated by a single Bowden wire J through a lever G with a swivelling connection G1 for the wire and a coil spring H to hold the louvres in open or closed position, or by a double wire and double lever without the spring H. Rattle is prevented by flat springs M between the rack bar and the channelled member. The blank front piece 0 spaced from the rear of the frame may be fitted. The channelled member E and members D may be connected by cross members, and the ends of the slats and the sides of top and bottom blanks may then be flanged to prevent entrance of air at the sides. For radiators of round, pointed or trapezoidal shape two sets of louvres opening simultaneously in opposite directions may be employed. The louvres may open to such an extent as to deflect air into the radiator. According to the Provisional Specification the frame may be hinged to fit closely to the radiator.
