Fanlights; sashes balanced by weights. - The sliding sash A of a window, having a combined sliding and hinged sash C lying when closed in the same plane, is balanced by a cord F secured to the front face of the sash style and passing over a pulley to a weight in a recess in the frame. The lower sash is hinged to the sill and is secured in any position by bolts and holes G in the hopper sides E.
