Improvements in steering hand-wheels

Hand-wheels.-The rim 1 and hub 2 of a motor-vehicle steering-wheel are connected by spokes formed of coiled springs 6 of any crosssection and pitch, which, while stiff enough to transmit rotation, allow flexibility in all directions. The springs may be enclosed in flexible sheaths 7, and are guided on pins 3, 4 of corresponding cross-section secured to the hub and rim as shown. The pins 3 may be replaced by projections integral with the hub 2. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the turns of the springs 6 may be " jointed." This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
