Ladies' undergarments; knickers; petticoats; draw cords; devices for tightening garments at the waist line.-Knickers, petticoats, and like garments retained in position by elastic at the waistline are made with the front a plain and non-shirred so as to prevent a "bunching" effect at the front. The rear b is shirred as usual by means of an elastic band d which is provided in a corresponding tunnel or hem. The hem ceases at e, where the garment is slotted for the band to emerge and engage a button g provided on the inside or outside of the garment. More than one buttonhole f may be provided for adjustment on the end of the band. Loops may replace the buttonholes.
