Locks, cases for.-A cover a for a night-latch to prevent access to the knob b1 by breaking a panel &c. is made from sheet metal with side flanges c provided with key-hole slots d adapted to engage the heads of screws e to affix the cover to the door, the flanges being bent over as at c' to prevent access to the heads of the screws. The portions c1 have small apertures g to indicate the positions of the enlarged portions of the keyhole slots to facilitate application to the door, and allow passage of a brad-awl &c. to correctly position the holes for the screws. Alternatively, the portion c1 may have gaps coinciding with the enlarged ends of the keyhole slots. The ends of the cover are formed by bending down portions a1, a2 of the blank and then bending inwards retaining portions a3 of the sides of the cover. The portion a2 completely closes the rear end of the cover, the portion a1 allowing room for pass. age of the latch bolt. The keyhole slots are disposed so that the cover is applied by sliding movement away from the edge of the door, and its removal is prevented, except when the door is open, by abutment against the usual staple h.
