341,559. Heating liquids by direct contact of hot gases. BRUNLER, A. O., 31, Colville Terrace, Notting Hill, London. Oct. 22, 1929, No. 32087. [Class 64 (i).] Water or other liquid in a tank a is heated by direct contact with a flame in an internal chamber d connected with the lower and upper parts of the tank by pipes b, h. The combustion products from the upwardly directed burner e rise in the pipe h and draw in water from the chamber d. The heated liquid is led through a separator m, from which the separated combustion gases escape to the atmosphere through a pipe l. The mixture of fuel and air for the burner pass through a preignition chamber f. Ignition is carried forward from the chamber f to the burner mouth by increasing the supply of the combustible mixture. Specification 300,819, [Class 64 (i), Heating liquids &c.], is referred to.
