346,599. Ticket-printing machines. CROAD, A. K., 70, Chancery Lane, London. (Kimball Co., A.; 307, West Broadway, New York, U.S.A.) May 20, 1930, No. 15475. [Class 100 (i).] In a machine for printing tickets and severing them from a strip partially cut at intervals and having the attaching staples in position there is provided a strip feeding and stopping means wherein an abutment is utilized to limit the movement of the strip whilst the friction feeding member advances and slides over the strip. Associated therewith is a severing mechanism and a printing mechanism. For effecting the feeding movement the finger 80 is pivoted on an arm 92 and associated with the pivot is a second lever 96 having a damping link 97 which passes through a block 98 with the spring facing 99. The lever 92 is adapted to be oscillated by the roller moving on a cam and in is feeding stroke the finger 80 is held down on the strip of tickets whereas on the return stroke owing to damping motion of the link 97 the finger is held up away from the strip. When the strip is being fed a positioning block 105 is raised by a linkage so as to contact with the edge of the partially severed ticket and limit its travel. In line with this block 105 is a second member 115 which is brought down for severing the ticket after it is printed. On the same driven shaft as the fingeroperating cam is a second cam disc which through an adjustable linkage 42, 43 operates a printing head 52 which in turn is linked to an inking block 60. The shaft 32 carrying the cam is driven by worm gearing from a motor M mounted on the same base 20 as the mechanism and the switch s is disposed in this base.
