[Class 117.] In apparatus for grading fruit of the kind consisting of a flat rigid table 5, Fig. 1, with apertures 6 arranged in sets of increasing size, the charging hopper 7 is adjustably inclined, and a feed regulator in the form of a pivoted or sliding board 8 is provided at the open end of the hopper. The means for adjusting the inclination of the hopper, which is preferably connected to the grading table by hooks 15 and staples 16, consists of legs 12 and struts 13 adjustably connected at 14 to the sides of the hopper. The board 8 is pivoted on pins 9 and is secured by friction clamps 9c. The different grades of fruit are received in shoots 17 which may be closed by hinged doors 21. As shown in Fig. 3, the doors are provided with handles 23 which fulcrum about the outer edge 24 of the table so that they tend to open when the handles are released. Alternatively, springs &c. may be used for this purpose.
