[Class 87 (ii).] Clay &c. is pressed on to wire fabric to form a foundation for plaster &c. by rollers provided with channels or grooves, and shaping members interposed in the grooves. The transverse grooves 3, 4 and peripheral grooves 5, 6 in the rollers 1, 2 are spaced to correspond with the wires 9, 8, Fig. 2, of the fabric. The wires 8 engage in slots 17 formed at the apex of conical or pyramidal shaping members A which are seated in the grooves 5, 6. The weft wires 9 of the fabric engage in slots 23 in shaping members B, Fig. 6, one of each co-operating pair of members A, B being provided with a pin 26 which engages in a recess in the co-operating member. The pins 26 may be integral with the shaping members, or seated therein, and serve to feed the fabric regularly through the machine.
