[Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i).] Concrete blocks A for constructing damp-proof and ventilated hollow walls are provided with end projections B of the same height as the block but placed at a lower level and extending beyond one end of the block. The projection has its inner face E covered with bitumastic dressing keyed to expanded metal moulded in the block. When assembled to form a hollow wall as shown in Fig. 2, the dressing on the parts B of the outer blocks abuts against the portions A of the inner blocks and vice versa to prevent the passage of moisture through the wall.
