[Class 18] A case for a stick of cosmetic comprises an outer casing and a sleeve 3 which can rotate without moving longitudinally, and the sleeve is so connected to the cover 9 of the case that the latter is opened or closed when the cup 11 carrying the stick is slid upwards or downwards. The cup 11 is connected to an external knob 12 which moves in a straight slot 2 in the casing and a slot 4 in the sleeve whereby the sleeve rotates only while the knob is moving in the part 4a of the slot 4. The connection between the sleeve and the cover comprises a lug 5 stamped &c. out of the sleeve and passing through a broad slot 6 in the casing to engage a slot 7 in one of the side extensions 8 of the cover, the latter being pivoted to the case at points 10. The lug 5 may be provided on the cover and the slot 7 in the sleeve. The casing 1 has a square cross section and its top edge is flanged inwardly to prevent longitudinal movement of the sleeve.
