908,437. Crayons; holders. BROMOMINT CO. Inc. March 5, 1959 [Dec. 10, 1958], No. 7619/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 146 (3). A crayon consists of a sodium soap of a fatty acid having a titre above 50, a polyhydric alcohol, water and a colouring material, the amount by weight of polyhydric alcohol being greater than the amount of soap and water combined. The polyhydric alcohol may be glycerin or a glycol, and hydrogenated fish oil may be used as a fatty acid. In the example given, 5% of the fatty acid remains unneutralized to give a super-fatted soap. The crayon is contained in a flexible plastic (e.g. polyethylene) tube sealed at one end and is projected to an operative position by pressing on the sealed end of the tube. The tube is sealed at both ends prior to use. Various colour solution formulae are disclosed which are water soluble and harmless if ingested but conventional soap dyes, oil soluble dyes, or inorganic pigments may be used.
