[Class 109] Relates to a machine for making ropes in which the wires or strands are provided with two twists in the same direction in one revolution of the flyer, e.g., as described in Specifications 365,793 and 422,129. The wires or strands are led forwardly lengthways of the flyer 1 as a bundle to a point remote from its axis and, for returning the bundle towards the axis of the flyer, guiding means are provided permitting free twisting motion of the bundle. In one form, the guiding means comprises a pulley 19, the wire engaging circumference of which is formed by rollers 77, 80, 81. Alternatively, balls may replace the rollers. The pulley 42 by which the bundle of wires is led to the flyer may be formed in the same way as the pulley 19.
