Improved manufacture of chromium hydroxide green

In the production of chromium hydroxide green, a mixture of alkali dichromate and boric acid is heated with sulphur, say to 600--620 DEG C. and the reaction product treated with water in known manner to decompose the chromium borate formed. The addition of sulphur in the heating step produces a product of greater transparency and of darker colour.
