Solid aryl-diazonium salts are made by precipitating from an aqueous solution by means of a salt of benzene-monosulphonic acid a diazonium salt of an o-aminodiphenylether derivative. The examples describe the precipitation of diazo solutions prepared from (1) the ethyl ester of 2 - amino - 41 - chloro - 1 : 11-diphenylether-4-carboxylic acid; (2) 4-chloro-2-amino-1 : 11-diphenylether; (3) 4 : 21- or 41-dichloro - 2 - aminodiphenylether with sodium benzene-monosulphonate. Specification 238,704, [Class 2 (iii)], is referred to.
