[Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XXI] In an electric shot-firing device having a generator 1 driven by a toothed sector 4 which also carries a pawl 8 acting through slide 6 and spring-pressed pin 5 to close the circuit at 7 whereby the shots 9 are fired, the slide 6 is locked by a pivoted spring-pressed latch 11 until the generator develops sufficient power to magnetize a polepiece 12 to such extent that the latch is attracted thereby.
