[Class 65 (i)] A stay for the lid of a cabinet comprises a cam member 2 rigidly fixed to the lid and a follower 4 carried on an arm 5 pivoted to the cabinet, the follower being yieldingly maintained against the cam face of the member 2 by a spring 6 and the cam face being so shaped that the lid is substantially balanced in all positions. In the form shown, the cam is arranged to give an upthrust on the lid when the latter is fully open, this position being determined by the engagement of a stop 8 on the member 2 with a lug 9 on the cabinet; the cam may also be arranged to give a downthrust in the closed position.
