[Class 122 (i)] A piston-ring comprises at least three thin split or segmental superposed laminations, the outer laminations being of cast iron and an intermediate one of bronze. Where more than three laminations are used the intermediate laminations may be all of bronze or alternately of bronze and cast iron or other metal. The ring may be expanded by a spring and pegs or other means may be employed for preventing relative movement of the laminations. British Specification 457,640 and U.S.A.
