[Class 15 (ii)] [Also in Group IX] Crape yarns of an organic derivative of cellulose are produced by sizing them with soya-bean protein and highly twisting them in the presence of wet steam or hot water. Fabrics containing the yarns may be subjected to hot aqueous treatment in a craping bath of 80-85‹ C. or higher. An example is given and Specifications 437,019, 438,589, 438,590, 438,591 and 438,654, [all in Group IX], are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the use of other proteins obtained from gelatin or modified gelatin, albumens such as egg albumen, casein and sericin, proteins treated with aldehydes, gums, starches, methyl cellulose that swells in hot water, and alkali soluble cellulose ethers, and the substance may be added to the spinning solution ; the fabric may be treated prior to the craping bath with aqueous solutions of saponifying agents, and two other examples using gelatin are given. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
