545,363. Manure distributers. IBALL, A. Feb. 26, 1941, No. 639. [Class 6 (i)] A manure spreader comprises a hopper supported on wheels which drive rotating spiders below the open mouth of the hopper. The mouth is spanned by an arcuate grid 3 angularly adjustable from a hand-wheel 30 and traversed by the teeth 5. The gap between the grid 3 and the hopper wall is closed by an adjustable mask 9, and the hopper provided with slidable plates 14 for adjusting the opening. A stripping cone 28 prevents return of manure to the hopper. Two spiders, one above the other may be used, and different alternative gear ratios provided at each end of the machine. A countershaft may also be fitted for driving straw-cutters placed in the hopper.
