[Class 135] A safety cut-off valve 'for inserting in the trailing supply line to a travelling machine is adapted to close automatically in the event of the tension in the supply line increasing due to accidents preventing the supply pipe trailing. The main casing A has a threaded nipple D for attachment to the mobile machine. The other end of the casing is closed by a screwed plug E formed with a stuffing box H for the tubular valve B and provided with a coupling for attachment to the trailing supply line. The valve member has ports K and is closed at the inner end by a flanged part acted on by a spring C. Normally the ports K are above the plug E but in the event of the tension in the pipe line increasing the ports are masked by the stuffing box and the supply is cut off.
