摘要

The authors have investigated the basic design of a wave basinequipped with element wave makers which can absorb incident wavesand make progressive waves simultaneously around the circumference.This was done because a number of wave basins aimed at conductingexperiments in the short crested wave fields have been constructed inthe last five years and these wave basins will become the standard forwave basins in the future. This study will be useful not only forconstructing wave basins, but also for improving or adding wavemakers to generate various wave fields.
