[Class 87 (i)] Road and flooring blocks &c. are formed with opposite right-angled corners 1 and flattened corners 2 respectively and with each side edge in two parts 3, 4, the latter angularly re-entrant and the former angularly bulging to interlock; hollows 5 in the surface can be filled in with suitable materials to give coloured, patterned and camouflaged surfaces. Recesses 9 may be provided on the underside to lighten the block, or provide drainage or for constructional purposes and drain holes 6 and passages 11 may also be provided. Metal reinforcements 7, 8 suitably patterned may be provided together with holes 13 for stringing the block on metal rods. The blocks are made of cement, concrete, rubber, aluminium, metals, ebonite, synthetic resins &c.
