[Class 38 (ii)] Relates to current transformers and like highvoltage apparatus housed in a liquid-filled enclosure of which the middle part 4 is formed by an insulating bushing, the upper part being at high potential and containing an air space 8 to permit expansion of the liquid, and consists in connecting the air space 8 with the external atmosphere through an insulating tube 10 extending down through the bushing to an outlet 11 in the lower, earthed or low potential, end 3 of the enclosure. Thus, a dchydrator may, owing to the length of the tube, be dispensed with, or if fitted as indicated at 12, being at the low potential end of the apparatus, is accessible for servicing. The length of the tube 10 may be increased by coiling it round the inside of the bushing, or the tube may be replaced by a duct formed in the wall of the bushing.
